Hello fellow dust hounds!
My wife and I (got married last year on the playa) will be Montreal the labour day weekend as part of our vacation.
Yes that means we won't be at the Burn this year. :-(
(my wife's brother decided to get married in Cambridge Ontario in late August.) :-/
Granted many of you may well be in Nevada, but is there anything going on in Montreal that long weekend we should know about?
What are the good hang outs or night clubs with good vibes and low on bar-stars?
I would appreciate your advice and insights to your city!
Thanks a million!

Tue, July 31, 2007 - 10:57 AMAnyone? Anyone? Does no one have any thoughts to share?
Someone must be able to give me some little tidbits?
Tell me your your favourite places to hang out or dance.
I'm not aksing you to take us out, or provide a schedule for the weekend, just give us some advice....
or is this not the correct place to try and connect with Burners in Montreal...
should I be looking elsewhere?

Re: Vancouver Burners coming to Montreal - need some advice.
Tue, August 28, 2007 - 6:39 PMHi, Fasty! You'll notice things are a bit dead in this tribe lately. Our glorious BM reps, Mr. Bad and Maj, are currently deep in the Dust, as are several other regulars such as Edweirdo.
As for what to do while in town: Montreal hosts a friendly cheap outdoor DJ party throughout the summer, called "Piknic Electronique". This weekend -- lucky you -- there's not one but TWO: Sunday *and* Monday afternoon and into the evening, on Ile Ste-Helene. Just take the orange line of the Metro from Station Berri-UQAM (direction Longeuil) under the river to Station Jean Drapeau.
Check it out:
www.piknicelectronik.com/
It's only $7, or $5 if you get there before 3pm. -

Wed, August 29, 2007 - 7:53 AMI appreciate Sciene's suggestion. Maybe we can all meet one another in Montreal. If not, no worries. Anyways, looking at places to see and tour for my super short stay there. -

Sat, September 1, 2007 - 7:20 PMI will be spending the early part of day at Mount Royal Park and then Old Montreal. I'll be playing with my Zumi poi in both locations. Hopefully, for those around, i can be found.

Re: Vancouver Burners coming to Montreal - need some advice.
Tue, September 25, 2007 - 2:19 PMHey!
Thanks for the tips!
sadly I had already left on my trip (Aug 23rd) and didn't see this message until I returned home. (Sept 15)
We didn't party much in Montreal which seemed a bit of a shame considering the reputation it has... but we still enjoyed ourselves!
Schwartz's smoked meat! Fantastic!!!!
If you ever find yourself on the west coast... drop me a line and maybe I can help you guys out!
cheers from the Wet Coast!!!
